Community Growing in the Heart of the Calder Valley
Allotment plots, raised beds, polytunnel spaces, bees, chickens and a communal orchard in Mytholmroyd.
Owned and run by its members, for its members.
For community
Gardening brings people together. We share knowledge, seeds, and any surplus veg. We labour together to build shared spaces, like our wildflower area and our fruit trees. All this builds a strong, healthy community.
For health
Gardening is good for health. Home-grown vegetables are packed with nutrients that supermarket food can't match. And numerous studies have shown the mental-health benefits of gardening.
For nature
Our site is a haven for wildlife. We grow using organic principles, without pesticides and harmful chemicals. We have protected wild areas to keep our pollenators and natural predators happy.
